MISSION TRIP 2010
August 23 - 27
Kopperston, WV
Everyone of us has something to offer. You don't have to be a carpenter, plumber, painter, electrician, or any other skilled craftsman to be of great value. Many times the greatest value is having someone in the group to talk to and fellowship with the people we are working for. Having people there to help care for the work crews is also an important job on the trip, if you don't feel you can do the construction work. There is something for everyone to do.
Don't count yourself out if you have a desire for this service.
Please sign up as soon as possible, but no later than Sunday July 25th if you plan to go. This will be the deadline to sign up due to scheduling timelines.
You don't have to go for the entire week if time doesn't permit, but we do need to know as soon as possible when you would like to be there in order to schedule the work and plan the lodging and meals.
Questions? Ready to sign up? Please contact Eddie or Dottie Crowe 704-822-8862 or eacrowe@bellsouth.net. |

LOAVES AND FISHES UPDATE
2010 is the 35th anniversary of L&F. Established in 1975 as a single pantry at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, it has grown to a network of 17 pantries and served 102,638 people in 2009! Due to the continuing economic problems and growing unemployment, L&F has seen an unprecedented need in 2009 and the prospects of 2010 still look grim.
Help us to continue to fill the food barrel each month with nonperishable, healthy food items. Every donation is gratefully appreciated.

CHECK IT OUT - TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE YOUR PAW CREEK “FAMILY”!!!:
Do you love cooking? When one of our members welcomes a new baby into their family, goes through surgery or medical treatment, or finds themselves experiencing the loss of a loved one, Paw Creek has a team of cooks who will help out by preparing meals for that family. Right now, we are in great need of additional folks to help on this “team”. You will not be required to cook for every “event” - in fact, the more people who volunteer, the more the duties will be rotated around!!
We are also in need of a little bit of extra care in the case of a funeral. In addition to preparing meals, we also like to serve the family by having someone present at the home while the memorial service is being conducted, in case someone were to call or stop by. Again, the more volunteers we have, the less frequently any one person will be called on.
Please consider helping out with one or both of these very important volunteer groups. If interested, please contact Ann Cashion, Shelby Alexander or Susan Kenley.

SPONSOR A CHILD FOR SPORTS CAMP
We now have 34 children registered for the July 12th Sports Camp and have started registration for the next camp on July 26th. If you could possibly sponsor a child for the second camp it would be greatly appreciated. Many of these children come from needy families and your support is needed.
Thanks, Ken
