Paw Creek Presbyterian Church's Music Ministry provides opportunities for worship,
service, and education while glorifying God through music. Participants experience
the joy of fellowship and the satisfaction of knowing that they offer a meaningful
service to God and His church. Whether you consider yourself a musical novice, an
amateur, or a professional, you can express and develop your talents here.
Paw Creek Presbyterian Church's music ministry includes the following:
Chancel Choir
The 30-35 men and women of the Chancel Choir assist in worship at the 11 AM
Worship Service each Sunday. This group also performs two major cantatas each year:
one for the Easter Sunday 11 AM Worship Service and another for one of the 11 AM
Worship Service during Advent. In addition, the Chancel Choir enjoys singing for
special events and services including outreach programs as well as revivals, concerts,
and musicals at neighboring churches. They were honored this past year to sing for the meeting of the Presbytery of Charlotte.
The Chancel Choir has an eclectic repertoire that includes traditional favorites,
Contemporary Christian, Praise and Worship, Gospel, and new classics. Some of their
recent favorite anthems are "Majesty and Glory," "Shout to the Lord," and "High and
Lifted Up." The Chancel Choir practices every Wednesday night from 7-8:30 and
welcomes new members with open arms.
Children's Choir
This choir is comprised of children ages 4 through 5th grade. The Children's Choir
performs for services quarterly and participates in cantatas and musicals. Children
who participate learn how to read music and improve their vocal skills. They also enjoy
sharing the love of music with each other as well as the opportunity to contribute to the
life of the church. This choir practices every Wednesday night from 6-6:45 and welcomes
new members any time.
Youth Praise Team
This newly-formed group of youth ages 12-16 will perform at least twice a year for
Sunday services as well as special events. Youth who participate will improve upon
their music reading and technical skills. They will also seek out opportunities to enrich
the community through their music ministry. This group meets every Sunday 12:15-1:15.
Chancel Orchestra
This small but mighty instrumental ensemble currently consists of woodwinds and brass, but weÕd be happy to add a percussionist and some string players. If you have ever played an instrument, you are welcome to join this group.
